Four technology solutions that have driven digital business transformation

The digital world has not only made it easier for people to carry out daily activities, but has also provided technological solutions to companies to improve their operations, the development of tasks and, in general, their functioning. 

The incorporation of technology in business began some time ago. However, the digital transformation process in companies has accelerated in the last year. According to a study conducted by Good Rebels, Colombia Digital and BBVA, 79% of existing companies in Colombia already address processes of this nature and have increased the resources allocated to digitization.  

The recent acceleration in the process of digital transformation of businesses is mainly due to the increase in home-based work. According to the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), during the first six months of 2020, telecommuting increased by 324%. 

Companies have resorted to digital tools in different areas to facilitate the performance of their work and the success of their operations from a distance and virtually. 

Technological solutions for teleworking companies

Cloud data storage. It is a service that allows collecting and storing data by transferring them, through the Internet or a network, to an external storage system maintained by a third party or IT provider, who manages, operates the collection of information in the cloud and distributes it, on a pay-per-use model. 

Today, there are hundreds of cloud storage systems, ranging from the personal level, which stores and maintains copies of a user's emails, photos, videos and other files, to the business level, which allows companies to transfer, store, organize and work with their data.

With cloud storage, companies obtain various benefits such as the elimination of physical devices for information collection, cost reduction, structuring, management and exchange of data between users, protection and security of documents, faster access to information, among other advantages. 

Data security. Businesses must carry out key control actions, encrypt information and implement technological tools for digital authentication aimed at cybersecurity of their data. In response, companies such as Nuvu have created security solutions, such as the Signapp application, a platform for digital linking and authentication based on facial biometrics, which helps to mitigate impersonation and fraud. 

Electronic signature. It is a type of authentication that replaces the autographic signature, that is, the one handwritten on paper. Through computerized means, people can authenticate a document, providing security and confidence to electronic files.

Among the benefits is the reduction of costs, since it eliminates the use of paper, printers, toner and others, the reduction of document management time, since it eliminates some bureaucratic steps and, consequently, speeds up the processes within the company, provides greater security, since the digital protection systems are highly effective and totally reliable. 

Payroll digitalization. Previously, the payroll process could be complex and present human errors in the financial recording of workers' salaries. However, with the implementation of software, this process is optimized, since it allows payroll settlement in the cloud, data management, reporting, reduction of time in payments, avoidance of human or calculation errors, real-time information and access from anywhere. 

Other technological solutions implemented by companies for remote work have been software that allows the evaluation of employee performance, organizational climate management and unified communication of the entity. However, the digital transformation of companies is a road that has yet to be traveled.
