Technological advances have meant that today it is not necessary to install applications on computers and other devices to access computer programs, millions of files and data processing. 

Through connectivity and the Internet, cloud computing technology can be cloud computing or cloud computing allows users to remotely access software, document storage, information processing and work with data from anywhere and at any time. From any computer or cell phone, people can access programs, files and all kinds of resources stored in the cloud.

Colombian companies such as Nuvu, creator of digital solutions, have opted to provide their services from the cloud, without resorting to servers, with the aim of adapting their technology to the needs of customers. 

According to Gartner, in 2019, the market for this service will reach US$ 227.8 billion. This is a result of its operability and the advantages it offers. 

Cloud computing functionality

To begin with, it is important to clarify that in cloud computing systems cloud computing There are two distinct parts: the user interface(frontend), which includes the computer network for access, and the cloud service itself(backend), which refers to the systems used by the cloud for storing information (servers). 

Thus, there is a central (remote) server that is responsible for managing the operation of the system, storing all the data and provisioning the required programs. The server uses protocols and software, which facilitate the connection between user devices to centralized resources, enabling communication between them. 

Currently, there are three types of cloud computing: public, private and hybrid. The first are computational resources provided by a third party and available to anyone. In this model, the client is responsible for what is sent to the cloud, which will be available on the web and can be shared among several users simultaneously, while the provider is dedicated to other areas such as security and resource management. 

The second is a model in which the company maintains the cloud infrastructure in its internal domain and offers restricted access to users. This alternative offers the possibility of customizing functions and support according to the company's needs. And, the third, refers to the union of public and private. In other words, depending on the user's needs, some resources are used privately or publicly.

Undoubtedly, cloud cloud computing is a technological solution for cost reduction, since it is not necessary to invest in infrastructure or licenses, data security, availability and access to information in real time, anytime and anywhere, centralization of data and optimization of work with files.
